The Saint by Kimberly Kincaid
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Another sexy banger from Kimberly Kincaid. This whole series is just soooo good. The Saint does not disappoint in the romantic suspense niche. A hot detective and the sexy reformed drug addict turned informant together for some major combustion.
Liam is the gorgeous, calm, easy-going and the only single detective left in the Intelligence unit. He has everyone’s back while hiding and dealing with a major “father issue” and a junkie brother to boot. He is called to a crime scene and the only evidence leads him directly to the one woman he can’t get out of his thoughts and fantasies. Of course, he goes to interrogate her, and the sexual tension is off the charts.
Carmen has a past. She is a former drug addict with legit criminal indiscretions. She constantly feels super self-conscious for that time in her life. BUT she has lifted herself up and along with now being a nurse, she also donates time to a night clinic that serves the disadvantaged in her community. Which unfortunately presents a blackmailing opportunity for a nefarious couple looking to access the clinic’s customer database for their insurance fraud scams fentanyl trafficking. That leads Carmen back to Liam and the Intelligence Unit for help.
The plan is for Liam and Carmen to go undercover as “boyfriend/girlfriend” which leads to my favorite “forced proximity” troupe! Lots of sexy times and soul-searching secrets revealed by both. The plan of action has lots of twists and some wild surprises that will keep you on edge. The HEA that our authorette supplies is both a little frantic but eventually a wonderful family reunion all tied up in a perfect bow.
The Saint is a fabulous read as a standalone and Ms. Kincaid knows her way around a police and medical romantic drama. I would encourage you to read the other books in the series as they are all so much fun and lots of sexiness. Can’t wait for ROMAN’s story!
