Starry-Eyed Love (Sparks House #2) by Helena Hunting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Absolutely LOVED this story! Helena Hunting has the most hilarious, heart-warming, sexy stories. This rom-com is set at a super slow burn for our London and Jackson which delivers the most amazing combustible first “date” after months of “non-dating” dates!
London is out with her sisters, Avery and Harley, for a post-breakup girl’s night out. A guy across the bar is trying to get London’s attention, while he is pretty hot, she is determined to ignore. Not ready for a re-bound BF. Jackson makes his way over to London’s table to ask her out.
“I just needed to tell you that from across the room, you were beyond stunning, but up close.” ~ He lets out a low whistle ~ “You are an absolute work of art.”Helena Hunting, Starry-Eyed Love
Swoon! Alas, London gives him the “I have a boyfriend” blow off. Jackson promises that hopefully karma will bring the back together in the future.
Four months later, London is in a boardroom, presenting for an event that would gain Spark House a major collaboration with Holt Media. The CEO of Holt Media, one Jackson Holt, walks by the boardroom and happens to see London presenting. Karma brought her back to him. He interrupts the meeting and hijacks the interview. It takes London a while to realize this was the GUY that she brushed off at the bar. Now embarrassed and sure that she will lose this opportunity – London successfully answers all his questions. Spark House gets the deal and Jackson personally takes over the collab for Holt Media.
Jackson is so enamored with London that he forgets that “he can’t date anyone while they work for him.” This sets up a series of “non-dates” as they meet out and about to work out the coordination of the event. Lots of sexy intensity with no sexy times allowed due to the workplace thing – but they do actually get to know each other. Now he can’t wait to get this event over and London out from under his direct employment! After some jealous ex behavior, a heart-wrenching break-up, and a major sister business melt-down, Jackson and London get to their sexy times and HEA.
Starry-Eyed Love is filled with snarky banter, sweet humor, and an invested cast of characters. The sisters all have different passions but they are loyal to each other and to their shared family business. Helena Hunting writes some sexy romantic adventures with such depth in her heroines and heroes. This book is a part of the Stark House series but is easily enjoyed as a standalone. Looking forward to Hayley’s social media romance next.
I received this ARC from the publisher (St. Martin’s Griffin) and NetGalley for an honest review.
